An unparalleled luxury safari experience in the heart of the Serengeti, with its Aurari and Cherero camps providing intimate encounters with nature while ensuring top-tier comfort.
Nestled in prime locations for wildlife viewing, these camps feature spacious, elegantly designed tents that blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
Each camp is situated in a remote and secluded location, offering six spacious solar-powered tents on wooden platforms to maintain harmony with the natural surroundings. These tents feature traditional African goods handcrafted by local Tanzanians, combined with earthy hues and luxurious bedding.
Stays include all meals and drinks, accompanied by spectacular African hospitality. The camps are family-friendly, welcoming children aged 5 and older.
With majestic views of the great annual migration, guests can enjoy game drives, guided walks, sundowners, hot air balloon rides, and exquisite dining under the African sky, all while being enveloped in the serene beauty of the Serengeti.
Cherero is open year-round, while Aurari is closed during the April rainy season.
Community at the Heart
Community is the heart of the camps, dedicated to empowering local individuals. The camp is entirely staffed by people originally from Tanzania, reflecting its commitment to local employment and cultural authenticity.
Furthermore, it is led by Tanzanian women, emphasizing its role in promoting gender equality and providing leadership opportunities within the community.
This model not only enhances guest experiences with genuine local insights but also contributes significantly to the social and economic development of the surrounding area.
Sustainable Practices
Solar Power: The camp utilizes solar energy to provide electricity and hot water, reducing reliance on non-renewable energy sources.
Eco-friendly Construction: The tents and facilities are constructed using locally sourced and sustainable materials, there are no permanent structures built.
Water Conservation: Water-saving measures are implemented throughout the camp, including low-flow fixtures and water recycling systems, as well as no pools on site.
Sam Kantabile Afrika is a family-owned business, managed an operated by husband and wife Vivian and Godwin Temba, they are Tanzanians based in Arusha. They have three kids under the age of 12. The camps were designed, built and run by Vivian, and her husband, Godwin. Vivian is Canadian and have been living in Arusha for 10 years. Godwin is a Tanzanian entrepreneur who founded his tour company by bootstrapping.
Establishing these camps has been a dream for them, to be able to consolidate skills and experience into a design x hospitality x sustainability project. They put a lot of themselves into these "offsprings" of theirs, as reflected in the aesthetics, service and gastronomy.
